Accreditation facts and institutional status

Health training provider status

Afya1 Academy is a health workforce training provider operated by Zorvica Innovations Limited. We are not a degree-granting university or chartered tertiary institution. We do not award diplomas or academic degrees.

Certificates of completion vs. CPD credits

All successfully completed courses confer an Afya1 Academy Certificate of Completion. Courses that carry Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credits state the approving body (e.g. Nursing Council of Kenya, Clinical Officers Council, Pharmacy and Poisons Board), the profession covered, the approved points, and the approval reference number. Courses without formal council approval explicitly state “No CPD points”.

Pre-publication review workflow

First aid, CPR/BLS, clinical skills, and workplace safety courses undergo a mandatory compliance review before publication. No course can be published with claimed CPD points until an administrator verifies written proof of approval.

How our academic board reviews curriculum

1. Clinical Vetting

Course syllabi are vetted against current Kenya Ministry of Health guidelines, WHO clinical protocols, and national disease management policies.

2. Faculty Screening

Instructors must hold active professional licences in good standing and demonstrate verifiable clinical experience in the subject area.

3. Assessment Audit

Examinations, continuous assessments, and practical drills are audited to ensure students achieve demonstrable competency.
